Description
- What they are:
A pack of 100 pieces used for electrical wiring. The blue part is PVC insulation and the silver part is tinned copper. - Model SV 2-4 breakdown:
– SV: Spade/fork type terminal
– 2: For wire size 1.5–2.5 mm², also called 16–14 AWG
– 4: For M4 screw/stud size, means 4mm screw - Where they are used:
You crimp these onto the end of a wire. Then the fork shape slides under the screw terminal of devices like the RCCB, voltage relay, MCB, or contactors we saw earlier. - Why use them instead of bare wire:
1. Safety: No loose wire strands that can cause short circuits
2. Strong connection: Crimping makes a tight joint that won’t get loose
3. Quick work: Easy to remove and reconnect without damaging the wire
4. Insulation: Blue sleeve prevents accidental touching of live parts
